Craft Information
'Free Spirit' is an 8.5m Cheetah Catamaran built by Cheetah Marine. Cheetah
Catamarans have been designed and built in Ventnor for the last 18 years. They
were originally designed as commercial fishing craft and are now working around
the world with various applications ranging from hydrographic survey to angling,
harbour and coastal patrol, and passenger carrying to leisure cruising.
'Free Spirit' was built in Spring 2007 and complies to the Maritime Coastguard
Agency Code of Practice, Category 3. The catamaran is licensed to carry a
maximum of 12 passengers plus 2 crew.
Cheetah Marine ensure that all boats are constructed to extremely high
standards. Modern construction processes and hi-tech materials guarantee that
all Cheetah Catamarans are structurally extremely strong. The catamaran
configuration with two hulls provides a very wide stable deck which wont lean to
one side with load. The design of the hulls has been developed over the years to
handle extremes of sea conditions - offering you a very comfortable smooth ride.
Wheelchair access is straight forward. 'Free Spirit' has been fitted with a side
door, enabling easy access from the pontoon to the deck for wheelchairs or
people with more limited mobility. The door opens onto a large, clear deck with
lots of room to manoeuvre.
